Some are beside people, some are stealing rice

Some are beside people, some are stealing rice. In fact, no one's behavior changes under any circumstances. Not even in bad times. In the past, people used to lie in wait like vultures to make a profit from famine, epidemic, and war. They became rich by stealing government rice and pulses and selling food allotted to the poor on the black market.

The food crisis has been caused by the lockdown. The amount of grain required is not available. There are long lines of hungry people, mostly poor people who depend on help from the private sector. In the meantime, all the rice and wheat provided by the government are being stolen. That grain is either being extorted from ration dealers or is being secretly removed. Someone is stockpiling to sell at a higher price in the future.

Very few organizations have stood by the helpless, poor, marginalized people almost everywhere in the country. Somewhere they are collecting and distributing food, somewhere they are distributing protection materials, somewhere they are standing at the door of people in case of emergency. Numerous young people have joined this work. They are doing this in accordance with the health rules for maintaining physical distance, using that rule as an excuse, and not sitting idle at home.

Many organizations that do not have a political identity also stand by the people. In addition to voluntary organizations, ordinary people are organizing themselves and working for relief and assistance. Helping needy people in the neighborhood. But rice theft is also happening in this country. The only difference is the attitude. Apart from the Chief Minister and one or two other ministers, the activities of the other ministers were not noticed by the people.

It is now common knowledge that the country's administration has tried to minimize infections and deaths. The government itself has lost its credibility. Similarly, the leaders of the ruling party did not do as much as they could to control the infection.

The epidemic has shown who knows how to be by the side of the people and who is busy in business even in the bad times of the people.
