91 people died in 9 days in the corona unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital!


The corona ward of the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) has turned into a mortuary within 9 days of the start of patient admission.

On May 2 (Saturday) the admission of corona infected and suspected patients started there. As of Sunday (May 10), 89 admitted patients had died there. And two died in the emergency department. The total death toll is 91. Seven of them were infected with Covid-19. In these nine days, the highest number of deaths was 15 in one day.

Since then, the number of deaths has been increasing day by day. Seven of them are corona positive. The rest are suspected.

At present, there are 195 patients in the hospital. There are 10 patients in ICU. About 600 patients were admitted in these few days. Many have gone home with treatment in the meantime.

Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin said, "I cannot say the exact number of deaths. However, the number of deaths is much in nine days. The number of corona suspects is much higher. Besides, some people have died due to Covid-19.

Patients with heart problems, respiratory problems, and other ailments are being admitted directly to the COVID unit. They are coming here after visiting many hospitals. The condition of all the patients who died was very bad. '

Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin said, "We will be able to start the admission process for COVID patients in the new building of the hospital in the next two days." There is a Department of Medicine including a Department of Cardiology. In addition to patients suffering from COVID, if they are affected by any other disease, they will be able to give quick treatment there.
