Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industries and
Investment, Dhaka-1 MP Salman F Rahman stood by the unemployed and helpless in
Corona. Fazlur Rahman Foundation has provided food assistance to 61,000
families in Dohar and Nawabganj Upazilas.
In addition to government-allocated rice, Salman F Rahman
has a variety of food items at his own expense. As a result, unemployed, middle
class, helpless, and extremely poor people of this Upazila are getting food aid.
Distribution of various food items to 28,000 families in 14 unions of Nawabganj
upazila and 33,000 families in 1 union municipality of 7 unions of Dohar
upazila, distribution of Eid gift items to 8,000 families and infant food to
5,500 families are in progress.
9,810 families of Nawabganj Upazila and 8,885 families of
Dohar has come under the cash benefits of the Prime Minister. This will
greatly alleviate the suffering among the people. The list includes a rickshaw
pullers, van drivers, day laborers, construction workers, agricultural workers,
shop workers, workers in various businesses run by individuals, poultry farm
workers, transport workers including bus-trucks, people of various professions
including hawkers.
He did not forget the place of his birth even though he was
an eminent industrialist. The list of names has been finalized by special
surveillance and thorough verification. And special care has been taken to
ensure that those who deserve it are not excluded from the list. The way aid
cooperation has continued is expected to alleviate much of the human suffering.
