Wiseman, a professor of psychology at the University of Hertfordshire, says research has shown that games that encourage socially positive behavior can affect people in the real world.
Wiseman's game with designer Martin Jacob has already gone viral in the online world. "It's a fun way to get the message across," he said.
Professor Wiseman said many studies have shown that if the message is conveyed in a certain way through video games, it has a real impact on the lives of people, especially children.
The game's creators who are trying to create an app say governments, schools, and health authorities could use the game to encourage social distance. According to them, it will be quite useful to maintain social distance after lifting the lockdown.
The game shows how pedestrians, cyclists, and people can avoid sneezing and coughing on busy roads. The main goal of the game is to save as many lives as possible. In addition to defending yourself in the game, the more people you can save, the higher the score of the game will be.
Wiseman said 15,000 people have played the game since its launch on Friday. Although the game is meant to encourage children, adults are also playing the game.
