In just six days, more than 10 million has been raised in a fund opened on the GoFundMe page in the name of George Floyd, who was tortured by police in the United States. Although it was opened with a target of only 1.5 million dollars, the fund has accumulated 1 crore 12 lakh 27 thousand 300 dollars till noon on Wednesday.
The fund called the Official George Floyd Memorial Fund was opened by George's brother, Filonize Floyd. The money raised will be used for George's funeral, litigation, mental care for family members, and the maintenance and education of two children.
So far, 4,30,700 people have donated to the fund in the name of George Floyd. The page has also received a response on social media, with more than two and a half lakh shares.

Meanwhile, on the GoFundMe page, another fund called ‘George Floyd (Big Floyd’) has been opened by the deceased’s sister Brigitte. More than 3 lakh dollars has been deposited there. In addition, about USD 500,000 has been deposited in another fund opened in the name of George's daughter Gianna (Official Gianna Floyd Fund).
George Floyd died in police custody on May 25 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A white policeman held him by the neck for a long time even though he did not obstruct his arrest on the charge of cheating. At that time, George repeatedly said, "I can't breathe," but the police officer didn't mind. In this way, he was held down for about eight minutes. George later died.
